NBC Cancels The Playboy Club

NBC has canceled The Playboy Club, the Mad Men wannabe drama set at the glamorous Playboy Club in 1960s Chicago.

The series, which stars Eddie Cibrian and Amber Heard, premiered to a modest 5 million viewers on September 20, and then plummeted to 3.8 million the following week.

The Parents Television Council repeatedly blasted the show for its sexual content and objectifying women, causing advertisers to pull out.

Brian Williamsnewsmagazine show Rock Center will take over the shows time slot beginning October 31.
