Opening arguments began today in the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, whos been charged with the involuntary manslaughter ofMichael Jackson.
Many points were presented by Deputy District AttorneyDavid Walgren, but among the most resounding came from Jackson himself.
Walgren played a conversation that the defendant recorded with Jackson during which the pop star slurred his words when discussing his upcoming This Is It tour.
When people leave my show, hes heard telling Dr. Murray, I want them to say, Ive never seen nothing like this in my life. Go. Go. Ive never seen nothing like this. Go. Its amazing. Hes the greatest entertainer in the world.
The prosecution contends the recording from just six weeks before Jacksons death proves that Dr. Murray was doping the singer up on the powerful anesthetic Propofol, which led to his death.
Jackson was highly under the influence of unknown agents with Dr. Murray sitting nearby, said Walgren.
Walgren told jurors, What happened during that time frame is that the acts and omissions of Michael Jacksons personal doctor Conrad Murray directly led to his premature death at age 50.
He added that the singer trusted his doctor, and that misplaced trust in Conrad Murray cost Michael Jackson his life.
