Joe Pesci Sues Over Mob Film

Joe Pesci is suing the producers of a movie about the Gotti mob family, alleging they cut down his role and paycheck after using him to attract investors.

The actor filed a lawsuit against Fiore Films, the company behind Gotti: In The Shadow Of My Father, for the $3 million he claims to have been originally promised to play John Gotti, Sr.s friend and enforcer, Angelo Ruggiero.

According to Pesci, who says he gained 30 pounds for the part,hes now being offered only $1 million and a lesser role in the movie, which also stars John Travolta, Al Pacino and Kelly Preston.

The Oscar winners lawsuit claims Fiore Films secretly planned to use [his] name and likeness to promote the film and then to later concoct some pretext for terminating the contract so as to avoid paying [Pesci] anything for the substantial publicity and buzz that was generated.

Producers insist there was no agreement for Pesci to play Ruggiero and that hes wastingeverybodys time with the litigation.
