Smurfs Aiming For Box Office Stunner

The Smurfs are on pace to challengeCowboys & Aliens for a possible weekend box office upset.

Those little blue animated buggers are tracking toward approximately $38 million, which would be just about whats now expected for the Daniel Craig-Harrison Ford sci-fi western.

If The Smurfs manage to win the weekend, itd come as a major surprise.

The tightly packed chart includes last weeks champ, Captain America: The First Avenger, attempting to fend off Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Each of those three films is projected to earn $20-25 million.

The romantic comedy Friends With Benefits drops to 6th place with approximately $10 million.

After that, Horrible Bosses and Transformers: Dark of the Moon will fight for the #7 spot, with both movies tracking toward $7 million.

The kiddie pics Zookeeper and Cars 2 round out the Top 10.
