Dave Chappelle Bombs, Baffles Crowd at Miami Charity Show [WATCH]

Dave Chappelle refused to tell jokes during a stand-up performance at Alonzo Mournings Summer Groove charity event in Miami last night, instead checking text messages and leading audience members to boo and heckle.

Its not entirely clear what went wrong, but Chappelle was reportedly irritated by fans who were recording him and addressed them instead of doing his routine.

CNN contributor Roland S. Martin was there and live tweeted the confusion.

This Dave Chappelle set is bizarre. Hes spent more time going back & forth with one audience member, & pretty much stopped telling jokes, wrote Martin.

Im just not understanding what threw him off. Hes complained about folks videotaping his set, yelling out loud. I dont get it.

Martin then reported, Chappelle says this is a test of wills. He keeps saying tick tock & he has nothing but time. Hes just staring at the crowd & sighing.

Hes been on stage 46 minutes & told one joke, added Martin, who says Chappelle checked text messages four times from the stage.
