Johnny Depp To Play Dr. Seuss?

Johnny Depp could reportedly play Dr. Seuss.

A live-action movie about the beloved childrens author (born Theodor Geisel) is in the works, and Depp is set to produce and possibly star in the biopic project.

Geisel, of course, wrote some of the last centurys most enduring kids books, from The Cat in the Hat to How the Grinch Stole Christmas, both of which have been turned into movies themselves.

Depps The Rum Diary will open soon, as will his next gothicTim Burton collaboration, Dark Shadows.

His association with classic childrens literature is well-established.

Among other roles, Depp has played Willy Wonka and the Mad Hatter, as well as Peter Pan writer J.M. Barrie.
