Real Steel Knocks Out Competition For #1

Real Steel is the real deal.

Hugh Jackmans robot boxing movie punched out the box office competition and is on track to win the weekend rather easily with an estimated $27 million haul.

The Ides of March, a political thriller starring Ryan Gosling and George Clooney, is expected to debut to approximately $11 million and second place.

Kids and marine biologists will lift Dolphin Tale to another strong showing, with the finned favorite swimming to $8 million, ahead of Moneyballs $7 million.

Cancer comedy 50/50 is likely to place fifth with $6 million.

The Lion King 3D should continue its successful re-release with a $5 million showing, which would edge out Courageous and Dream House, both of which are estimated to pick up $4.5 million.

Abduction and Whats Your Number? should duke it out for ninth place. The Taylor Lautner and Anna Faris star vehicles are heading toward $3 million weekends.
