The Simpsons Renewed For Two More Seasons

The Simpsons is saved.

Fox announced on Friday night that its reached a deal to renewthe longest-running comedy in television history after negotiations between the voice cast and the studio nearly ended the shows epic run.

There will now be at least a 24th and 25th season, bringing the total number of episodes for Homer and the rest of Springfield to 559.

The official statement does not say whether the next two seasons will be the series last, but it does quote Homer Simpson as saying, Woo Hoo! I outlasted Andy Rooney!

The shows 500th episode airs on February 19.
